.י אֵשֶׁת-חַיִל, מִי יִמְצָא; וְרָחֹק מִפְּנִינִים מִכְרָהּ |
Eisheth cḥayil mi yimtzah? V’racḥoq mip’ninim mikḥrah. |
A woman of valour who can find? For her price is far above rubies. |

.יא בָּטַח בָּהּ, לֵב בַּעְלָהּ; וְשָׁלָל, לֹא-יֶחְסָר |
Batacḥ bah, leiv ba’elah; v’shalal, lo-yecḥ’sar. |
The heart of her husband safely trusts in her, and he has no lack of gain. |

.יב גְּמָלַתְהוּ טוֹב וְלֹא רָע; כֹּל יְמֵי חַיֶּיהָ |
G’malahtheihu tov v’lo rah; kol y’mei cḥayeihah. |
She does him good and not evil; all the days of her life. |
|
יג דָּרְשָׁה, צֶמֶר וּפִשְׁתִּים; וַתַּעַשׂ, בְּחֵפֶץ כַּפֶּיהָ |
Darshah tzemer ufishtim; vata’as b’cḥephetz kapeiha. |
She seeks wool and flax, and works willingly with her hands. |

.יד הָיְתָה, כָּאֳנִיּוֹת סוֹחֵר; מִמֶּרְחָק, תָּבִיא לַחְמָהּ |
Hay’thah ka’aniyoth socḥeir; mimmer’cḥaq tavih lacḥmah. |
She is like the merchant-ships; she brings her food from afar. |

;טו וַתָּקָם, בְּעוֹד לַיְלָה וַתִּתֵּן טֶרֶף לְבֵיתָהּ |
Va’taqam b’odh lailah; vatitein tereph l’veiythah; |
She rises also while it is yet night, and gives food to her household, |
|
.וְחֹק, לְנַעֲרֹתֶיהָ |
v’cḥoq l’na’arotheyha. |
and a portion to her maidens. |

.טז זָמְמָה שָׂדֶה, וַתִּקָּחֵהוּ; מִפְּרִי כַפֶּיהָ, נַטַע כָּרֶם |
Zam’mah sadheh, va’tiqqacḥeihu; mi’pri kḥapeyha natah karem. |
She considers a field, and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard. |

.יז חָגְרָה בְעוֹז מָתְנֶיהָ; וַתְּאַמּוֹץ, זְרוֹעֹתֶיהָ |
Cḥagh’rah v’ohz math’neyha; vat’ammotz zero’otheyha. |
She girds her loins with strength, and makes strong her arms. |

.יח טָעֲמָה, כִּי טוֹב סַחְרָהּ; לֹא יִכְבֶּה בָּלַּיְלָה נֵרָהּ |
Ta’amah ki tov sacḥrah; lo yikḥbeh ballailah neirah. |
She perceives that her merchandise is good; her lamp goes not out by night. |

.יט יָדֶיהָ, שִׁלְּחָה בַכִּישׁוֹר; וְכַפֶּיהָ, תָּמְכוּ פָלֶךְ |
Yadheiha shilcḥa va’kishor; v’kḥapeyha tam’kḥu phalekḥ. |
She lays her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle. |

.כ כַּפָּהּ, פָּרְשָׂה לֶעָנִי; וְיָדֶיהָ, שִׁלְּחָה לָאֶבְיוֹן |
Kapah par’sha l’ani; v’yadeiha shillcḥah, la’evyon. |
She stretches out her hand to the poor; yes, she reaches forth her hands to the needy. |

:כא לֹא-תִירָא לְבֵיתָהּ מִשָּׁלֶג |
Lo thirah l’veithah mi’shalegh; |
She is not afraid of the snow for her household; |
|
.כִּי כָל-בֵּיתָהּ, לָבֻשׁ שָׁנִים |
ki kḥal beithah lavush shanim. |
for all her household are clothed with scarlet. |
|
.כב מַרְבַדִּים עָשְׂתָה-לָּהּ; שֵׁשׁ וְאַרְגָּמָן לְבוּשָׁהּ |
Marvadim as’thah llah; sheish v’argaman l’vushah. |
She makes for herself coverlets; her clothing is fine linen and purple. |

.כג נוֹדָע בַּשְּׁעָרִים בַּעְלָהּ; בְּשִׁבְתּוֹ, עִם-זִקְנֵי-אָרֶץ |
Nodhah bash’sharim ba’elah; b’shivtoh im-ziqnei aretz. |
Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land. |

.כד סָדִין עָשְׂתָה, וַתִּמְכֹּר; וַחֲגוֹר, נָתְנָה לַכְּנַעֲנִי |
Sadhin as’thah v’timkor; va’cḥaghor nath’nah l’k’na’ani. |
She makes linen garments and sells them, and delivers girdles unto the merchant. |
|
.כה עֹז-וְהָדָר לְבוּשָׁהּ; וַתִּשְׂחַק, לְיוֹם אַחֲרוֹן |
Ohz-v’hadhar l’vushah; va’tis’cḥaq l’yom acḥaron. |
Strength and dignity are her clothing; and she laughs at the last day. |

.כו פִּיהָ, פָּתְחָה בְחָכְמָה; וְתוֹרַת חֶסֶד, עַל-לְשׁוֹנָה |
Pihah path’cḥah v’cḥakḥmah; v’thorath cḥesed al-l’shonah. |
She opens her mouth with wisdom; and the law of mercy is on her tongue. |

.כז צוֹפִיָּה, הֲלִיכוֹת בֵּיתָהּ; וְלֶחֶם עַצְלוּת, לֹא תֹאכֵל |
Tzophiah halikḥoth beithah; v’lecḥem atzluth lo thokḥeil. |
She looks well to the ways ( walks ) of her household, and eats not the bread of idleness. |

.כח קָמוּ בָנֶיהָ, וַיְאַשְּׁרוּהָ; בַּעְלָהּ, וַיְהַלְלָהּ |
Qamuh vaneiha vayahshruhah; ba’lah vay’hal’lah. |
Her children rise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: |

.כט רַבּוֹת בָּנוֹת, עָשׂוּ חָיִל; וְאַתְּ, עָלִית עַל-כֻּלָּנָה |
Raboth banoth asu cḥayil, v’at alith al-kullanah! |
'Many daughters have done valiantly, but you have surpassed them all!' |

:ל שֶׁקֶר הַחֵן, וְהֶבֶל הַיֹּפִי |
Sheqer hacḥein, v’hevel hayophi: |
Grace is deceitful, and beauty is vain; |
|
.אִשָּׁה יִרְאַת-יהוה , הִיא תִתְהַלָּל |
Isha yirath-Yahu’ah, hiy thithallal. |
but a woman that fears The Eternal Existent One, she shall be praised. |
|
.לא תְּנוּ-לָהּ, מִפְּרִי יָדֶיהָ; וִיהַלְלוּהָ בַשְּׁעָרִים מַעֲשֶׂיהָ |
T’nu-lah mipri yadheiha; vihaleluha vashsh’arim ma’aseiha. |
Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her works praise her in the gates. |
