Thank you for wanting to get to know us a little!

Lamed Messianic Jewish Studies is a Messianic Jewish Community made up of Jews AND Gentiles who believe in Messiah. We are a congregation of those who are called to worship hvhy , the G-d of the Bible, through Messiah Yeshua, the Son of G-d. Our Messiah is Jewish, and while He was here, He lived His life as a Jew. The most important part of that is that He was Torah observant. He did not observe it according to current Jewish teachings, nor according to some of the erroneous teachings of His day, but according to HIS knowledge of Torah, since He is "HaDavar", the WORD. He settled all the Torah arguments that were in Israel in His day: "Is there a resurrection?" "Do we circumcise on the eighth day if it is a Sabbath", "Is Pesach on the 14th of Nisan or the 15th?", "Is Bikkurim on the 1st day of the week after Pesach, or the day after Pesach?", and more; but, the only ones who received the benefit of that knowledge and peace are the ones who trusted in Him.

We are here to build the Body of Messiah the way it was originally built, around the Jewish houses of Assembly, with Jews AND Gentiles coming out of their homes to assemble at the appointed times. We are here to offer to our Jewish community a place to serve the Messiah as the Jews of the first century did, and to offer to the Gentile community the actuality of being grafted into the Olive Tree of Yisra'el, enjoying the richness, sweetness, and benefit of the Jewish traditions which the Sh'likhim all taught to all believers, as seen in Scripture.

Another way of looking at this could be thus:

  • Christianity is akin to a kind of "Jesus for all the world" while men attempt to tell people how to live a "good life" while telling everyone that the law (Torah, Word of G-d) has gone away because we are under a "new law" of grace usually understood as little to weak or no standards.
  • Messianic Judaism is Jewish and Gentile "Believers in the Yeshua (Salvation) of Elohim' endeavoring a halakhah (life-walk) as Yeshua exemplified in life actions based on the Torah and instructing those who followed Him to exemplify themselves so as to be salt and light; while understanding that the only perfect sacrifice which can solve once and for all the problem of death brought upon by sin (separation from Elohim) is one which G-d our Father can provide for Himself.
    • Acts of The Apostles 17:11 - Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of the mind, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. [HNV]
    • 1st John 2:1-6 My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. If anyone sins, we have a Counselor with the Father, Yeshua the Messiah, the righteous. And he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world. This is how we know that we know him: if we keep his mitzvot. One who says, "I know him," and doesn't keep his mitzvot, is a liar, and the truth isn't in him. But whoever keeps his word, God's love has most assuredly been perfected in him. This is how we know that we are in him: he who says he remains in him ought himself also to walk just like he walked. [HNV]
    • Revelation 14:12 - Here is the patience of the holy ones, those who keep the mitzvot of God, and the faith of Yeshua." I heard the voice from heaven saying, "Write, 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.'" "Yes," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors; for their works follow with them." [HNV]
    • Also, Jeremiah 17:5-10; Ezekiel 20:1-20; Isaiah 56:2-8

Read the 'Christians' page and learn why we keep the Torah, not for salvation, but for holiness and the perfecting of our faith. Read the 'Doctrines' page and learn what teachings we do not allow in our midst. If you want to visit us, read this page about our 'Customs.'
